Dragon Quest Tact

Madusa appears as an A-rank monster of the Demon family as part of the limited Dragon Quest II event. She can learn Woosh, Psychokinetic Sphere, and Curse Orb naturally and her Leader Perk raises the party's resistance against curses by 25% in a 5x5 square around it. Madusa will join the party in the event quest Chapter 2: Episode 4: Seeing Eye to Eye and she stars in her own Battle Road. She can be fully awakened by completing the stage based on the Lighthouse at any difficulty.

Etymology

Madusa and its green cousin are inspired by the Greek myth of Medusa and her sisters, known as the Gorgons. They appear as beautiful women with venomous snakes in the place of hair. Those who gazed into Medusa's eyes were turned to stone. In one myth, Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden but she had her hair transformed into snakes by the goddess Athena after she was violated by the god Posiedon in a temple that was sacred to Athena. She was eventually beheaded by the hero Perseus. In some versions of the myth, Medusa's head became the shield Aegis and it could be used to petrify anyone who looked into her eyes.
