As implied by it's name, the '''Iron scorpion''' (鉄のさそり) is a metal coated menace that boasts superior defenses than it's organic bug brethren. Due to the text limitations of the {{Game Boy Color}} {{DQ}} remake, the Iron Scorpion was renamed to ''MtlScorpion'' in that version.
Iron [[Bug family|scorpions]] are a metal-coated menace that boast superior defences to their organic bug brethren. The soft undersides of their bodies, which can only been seen on their faces, is dark pink. The arachnids are able to shrug off attacks from simple weapons, requiring adventurers to improve their equipment or resort to taking them out with magic. The iron scorpion returned to the series in ''VIII'' after many years along with the rest of its scorpion kin.
