The Pink sanguini is a recurring monster in the series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IX. It is a slightly more mature version of a Teeny sanguini with rose-coloured fur.
Characteristics[edit]
Pink sanguinis have pink furry round bellies, large ears also covered in pink fur, and four small paws. They have two small eyes and a big mouth which they usually keep shut. On their back, they have a pair of black bat wings and an also black devilish tail.
When they are angry, their eyes turn red and their open mouths reveal their sharp teeth. With their sharp fangs, they can suck blood to restore their own health.
Pink sanguinis can further mature into bloody manguinis if they go to sleep with their bellies stuffed with blood. If the transformation fails, they will become genie sanguinis instead. There is a theory that a pink sanguini that lives for a 1,000 years will transform into a Batmandrill, according to their monster info in X. This is due to their pink fur coats being soaked to the core with blood.

Etymology[edit]
- In both English and Japanese, Pink refers to the color of the monster.
- Sanguini is derived from "sanguine", which has multiple relevant definitions. The more common definition (derived from Humorism) is "cheerfully optimistic, hopeful, or confident", but the older definition is "bloody" or "sanguinary", referring to the Sanguini's primary diet.
- Moomon (モーモン) appears to be a portmanteau of the Japanese rendition of the cow cry, "moo" (mō, モー), with "demon" (dēmon, デーモン).
