The stark raven, formerly known as black raven or simply raven, is a member of the bird family, introduced in Dragon Quest III.

Characteristics

Stark ravens are dark blue corvids perched ominously on top of skulls, likely belonging to some unlucky adventurer. They attack by grasping the skulls in their feet and dropping it on enemies. These birds are encountered early in the hero's adventure and do not pose much of a threat.

Etymology

Stark raven's name comes from the phrase "stark raving mad", which means completely and wildly insane.
