The Corpse Corporal is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest II, it is a stronger version of the walking corpse.
Characteristics
The creepy corpse corporal shuffles soulessly until it encounters an enemy, and even then they seem almost catatonic. But when they do spring to life they love to lick the party in a way that leaves them helplessly paralyzed so they can shuffle haplessly and strike. They also emit an eerie aura that leaves enemies open to extra damage from slung spells.
It is unknown why the corporal sprites alternate between being faithful to the artwork's colors and wearing grimey green, and what caused this inconsistency in the first place.
