Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]

Furgil first appears once Psaro wins the Rank F tournament in Endor. Introducing himself as a talent scout for the Monster Mauling Association, he gives the prince a piece of red-coloured travelite to enter into Nadiria and compete in the tournament held in the maulosseum.

In truth, he is one of Aamon's toadies who has been tasked with guiding Psaro to further his master's malicious ends.

Etymology[edit]

  • Furgil is a play on the name Virgil, specifically the Roman poet Publius Vergilius Maro famous for guiding the Italian poet Dante through the circles of Hell in The Divine Comedy. This is intentionally ironic, as Virgil guided Dante out of Hell towards salvation where as Furgil guides Psaro into Nadiria towards his ruin.
