The Clawcerer is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VII. They are anthropomorphic cat sorcerers.

Characteristics[edit]

Clawcerers are moggy magicians, related to the lesser spell slingers, Meowgician. Along with the classic catty spell, Frizz, they can also cast the Dazzle spell that cause the accuracy of all adventurers to dive, by blinding them with bright magic. Clawcerers have deep dark blue fur and wear red ragged robes to cover their feline form, although their constantly cat licking gives them away. To amplify their power they carry solid gnarled wooden staves and wear wicked yellow bells hanging around their necks.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Clawcerers appeared from the beginning of the game. As in the previous game, they are able to cast both Bang and Dazzle and will attempt to cast Kaboom, but will fail due to their low MP pools. It is possible for players to change the appearance of a Meowgician monster companion to that of a Clawcerer's with a colour-changing ticket.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

Clawcerer appears as a C-rank monster of the Beast family that can be scouted normally from any banner. It can participate in Bewarewolf and Cumulus vex's Battle Roads as a party member.
