The Purrestidigitator is a recurring monster in the series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VII. It is an anthropomorphic green cat wearing a blue wizard's robe. Its name is a play on a cat's purr and "prestidigitator", a magician skilled in sleight-of-hand.
Characteristics[edit]
Purrestidigitators are feline wizards with green coats of fur, wearing blue robes that reach down to their feet along with a long necklace with a bronze cat's bell around their necks, as well as carrying gnarled wooden staffs which aid in spellcasting. Their repertoire of spell includes being able to envelop their opponents in illusions or sending them into chaos, along with setting them ablaze with fire magic. In later games, the felines have also gained the ability to cast darkness spells, as well.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Purrestidigitators appeared from the beginning of the game. They are still able to cast Frizzle, Zammle, and Fizzle, their spells from the previous game, and still continue to waste their turn by washing their faces in battle.
Dragon Quest Rivals[edit]
Purrestidigitator appeared in the 3rd card pack, "Cries of the Phoenix and Mother Earth" as a normal card exclusive for Merchant leaders.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Purrestidigitator appears as a B-rank monster of the Beast family as part of the Dragon Quest VII event. It can be recruited in the Infernal Cave of the Cathedral of Blight at any difficulty, eventually being recruitable from Part 2 of the storyline from Chapter 6, Episode 6: His Wish. The purrestidigitator can participate in the Cumulus vex and Frankengolem's Battle Road as a party member.
