The Bodkin bowyer is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest IV. These yellow-hooded variants of the Bodkin archer can rain a flurry of arrows on foes and inflict various status effects.
Characteristics[edit]
Bodkin bowyers are small goblin-like creatures with purple skin that don green robes and yellow hoods instead of the normal brown. Their golden-colored hoods indicate that they are among the strongest of the bodkins, only being surpassed later by the Bodkin bloodbow.
They carry brown shortbows and their arrows have yellow fletchings. Their arrows are laced with various toxins that can either put unfortunate adventurers to sleep, or inflict paralysis, depending on the title, and they also deliver a Rain of Pain, as well. As a last resort, the Bowyers will call for help from more of their kind to assist them.
