The Tinkerer's Toolbench is an accessory modifying business run by Monty that squeezes a little bit more oomph out of baubles.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
The toolbench is located in Rosehill in the same multi-purpose building that Monty uses to run the village's bank, item shop, and info hub. here Monty is able to take five accessories as raw materials in order to craft an enhanced "+" version of one of those components. These modified accouterments can add extra traits, enhance the stat-boosts they grant, or add boosts to an additional stat on top of the base's parameters. The process is seemingly random ins electing which of the five accessories gets refined and there is a chance for Monty to fail altogether and lose four of the materials in the process, but observant players discovered the secret to deciding which accessory will be selected.
1 | Deactivate the game's auto-save feature |
2 | Select the five accessories to be used as materials Make note of the order in which the five are listed |
3 | If Monty fails and one accessory is returned, note where it was listed |
4 | Compare the number of that failure to the listing of the five raw materials as it is now the guaranteed return I.E. if the ring of vigour was the third listed and it is the returned failure then the third slot is the guaranteed return |
5 | Reset the game without saving |
6 | Place the desired accessory in the identified return slot In this example it would be the third item listed |
7 | Have Monty try again until the desired accessory has been enhanced |
There still remains a chance for Monty to fail even with this process. Including unwanted "+" accessories as raw materials will greatly increase the odds of the old dwarf successfully reworking the accessory, and Fizzy regularly sells accessories that can be used as disposable goods.
