The Bobonga is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VIII.
It is an obese, purple Dragon that fills its seemingly bottomless pot with Amor seco essence.
Characteristics
Bobongas are large bipedal dragons with bumpy purple scales, a magenta underside, and a yellow pair of eyes. The jovial dragons have small black spikes running from between their eyes to the back of their heads and they are constantly seen displaying a toothy grin. Their Amor seco essence-filled jars are colored dark blue and bronze and are held at their right side with a long leather strap on their left shoulders. Much like their yellow and green-scaled cousins, the Bobonga attacks by tackling enemies with their huge stomach or will take a swig from their jars to breathe out intense flames.
