The Care ring is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series. Its name is a play on the word "caring".
Characteristics
The ring consists of a beautiful blue band with gold edges decorated with pearls and a light blue lozenge-cut gemstone in the middle, flanked by a design of two doves. In the original Japanese games, the care ring actually refers to two different accessories since their effects are very different but they both use the same design.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III
The care ring has a wisdom bonus of +15 and changes the wearer's personality to Good egg. However, equipping the ring only affects the rate at which characters will learn spells and will not increases the wearer's maximum MP growth rate. It can be equipped by all vocations and can be sold for 495 gold. One can be found in Fifer's Spire and the other in the Tower of Rubiss. It only appears in remake versions of the game.
Dragon Quest X
The care ring reappeared in this game, establishing its new property of increasing the wearer's resistance to Fizzle and skills being sealed away, as well as a small boost to the wearer's maximum MP, defence, and style. With accessory synthesis, it is possible to improve the ring's sealing resistance.
