The hocus chimaera is a recurring monster in the series, introduced in the original Dragon Quest. They look just like their normal kin, but are composed of warmer colours such as browns and oranges. True to their name, they have learned a wingfull of spells.
Characteristics[edit]
Fiery feathered, floating, flappy beasts with perpetually fluttering wings that keep them afloat and allow the hocus chimaera to breathe a fearsome fire on all adventurers in a single swoop. They bolster their fire-belching ability with knowledge of different spells depending on the game, including healing allies and debilitating their foes.
