Downsizing seeds are an item introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, and so far exclusive to the Dragon Quest Monsters series. Rather than increasing Stats or adding skill points, these seeds can be used to reduce the size of a monster from Large to Small, removing the advantages that come with Large status but allowing the monster to take up only a single party slot.
This seed's size-increasing counterpart is the upsizing seed.

The size-altering seeds were not present in the game at launch, but were added in the Version 1.0.6 patch.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World[edit]
Both downsizing and upsizing seeds were available in the game at release.
