Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
After the party's confrontation with Hendrik and Krystalinda in The Hekswood, the hypothermic Hero is dragged to Snorri's cabin to recover. Snorri explains that he has been using the cabin as a base from which to study Krystalinda's origins after she froze Sniflheim solid. He had previously tried to enter the Royal Library where Krystalinda was said to have been sealed away in a book, but the powerful monsters inhabiting the archive forced him to abandon the idea. The party decides to escort Snorri through the library, and he briefly joins the party as a guest.
After poring through a tome in the Royal Library, Snorri discovers that Jörmun was not Krystalinda's pet, as Queen Frysabel had claimed, but had actually been keeping a portion of the witch's powers locked away. Snorri accompanies the party back to the frozen Sniflheim, where they confront the false Frysabel and reveal her to actually be Krystalinda in disguise. After the party defeats her in battle, Snorri recites the sealing incantation to trap the witch in her book once again. The city unfreezes and Frysabel seems to have been restored, but in truth only Krystalinda's powers were sealed away, and she managed to return to her disguise. The real Frysabel's voice calls out from the book and the truth is revealed, leading to the final dilemma in the throne room, where Snorri determines that the Frysabel outside the book is in fact still Krystalinda.
In the game's second act, Snorri finds himself once again researching a magical calamity that has overcome Sniflheim. Unfortunately, his attempts to solve the mystery of the "gold fever" caused by Gyldygga are considerably less effective than his earlier efforts against Krystalinda.
