The holy lance is a recurring spear in the Dragon Quest series.
It is often a mid-level spear and that has the ability to deal extra damage to monsters of the undead family in modern titles.

The holy lance has an Attack bonus of +35. It can only be equipped by Priests and Sages. It is sold at Asham and Isis.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
The holy lance has an Attack bonus of +33. It takes the place of the Morning star in the remakes. It can be bought in Endor for 1,250 gold coins and sold for 937. Kiryl and Meena Mahabala can equip it.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
The holy lance has an Attack bonus of +36 and a Style bonus of +17. It can be equipped by the Hero and Sir Mervyn. They can be bought for 3,300 gold coins at Greenthumb Gardens when it is revisited in the past and sold for 1,650 gold coins.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
The holy lance has an Attack bonus of +39. It can only be equipped by the Hero. They can be bought for 2,700 gold coins in Pickham and sold for 1,350 gold coins. Holy lances can also be made in the Alchemy Pot.

The holy lance is the common English name given to the lance of Longinus that pierced the side of Jesus as he hung on the cross. Many churches across the world have claimed to possess this lance.
