The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +55 and will always cause 50% damage to an attacker. One set of it can be found in Gondo Cave and can't be sold in the NES Version.

Dragon Quest IV

The spiked armour has a defence bonus of +50. It has a 50% chance to reflect 25% damage to the attacker. The secret armour store in Endor sells this. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, Torneko, and Psaro.

Dragon Quest V

The spiked armour once again has a defence bonus of +55, a 50% chance to inflict a quarter of damage back to the enemy, and can be equipped by Sancho and Tuppence. A set is found in the Riteoff Passage.
