The Headless Honcho is a boss and villain in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. He is the leader of the forces attacking the Last Bastion on orders from one of the Spectral Sentinels.
Characteristics[edit]
The Headless Honcho has the same appearance as a Headless hunter, being a Dark dullahan that is mounted on horseback. He is a headless knight armed with a long spiked flail in his right hand and a shield with a hideous gaunt visage in his left hand, which is where he speaks from. His body is heavily armored, with a metal breastplate covering a full suit of chain mail, gauntlets, cuisses, and greaves made of plate, and a ragged black cape hanging from his shoulders. His horse has eerie glowing white eyes and its barding consists of chain mail, scales, and plate, as well as a tall plume on its head.
The monster speaks highly of his commander Jasper and states that he will reward them handsomely for killing Hendrik, causing his underlings to cheer gleefully before commencing their attack on both the Heliodorian general and the Luminary.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest XI[edit]
In the battle against the Headless Honcho, he will be accompanied by a Skelegon, a Chasmonaut, a Skeleton swordsman, and a Vicious grim gryphon. In the Nintendo 3DS version and the 2D mode of the Definitive Edition, four Chasmonauts fight alongside the Headless Honcho instead. Hendrik will assist as an uncontrollable party member, using Forbearance and Kabuff to protect the Luminary and casting Midheal on him if his HP gets low.
