The chasmonaut is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest II. It is an undead foot soldier serving in the Arcfiend's armies.
Characterstics[edit]
Chasmomauts are skeletal warriors with yellowing bones that are clad in red and pink armor who carry a longsword and shield into battle. The shield bears the symbol of the Children of Hargon on it. They have a chance to drop the shields they carry, which will curse any adventurer with the misfortune to equip them. After a nearly 30 year absence in the series, the skeletons made their reappearance in Dragon Quest XI.
