Crocodine is one of the first antagonists of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, who soon after becomes an ally to the disciples of Avan.

Appearance

Crocodine is a humanoid reptile-like beast with a build similar to that of a muscular large man, with large arms and legs, and a strong tail. Crocodine has pink scales that cover all his body that become brown-ish in his underside. He wears a silver and black roman-style armor that covers his torso, a white cape, and additional protectors for his forearms and legs. His preferred weapon is his trusty Vortex Axe, but he can hold well even with his bare fists.

He is one of the six legion commanders of the Dark Army, and Hadlar tasks him with defeating Dai before his power grows. In his first meeting with the disciples of Avan, Crocodine loses his left eye after a combined attack by Maam and Dai, which forces him to retire temporarily. Soon after, he and his Furfang legion -the legion he commands, a division within the dark army made of monsters from the beast family- invade Romos in order to lure Dai by using a dirty trick Zaboera suggested: using Brass as bait.

Crocodine appears as a boss in the collaboration events in the Japanese version of the game. The player can acquire some pieces of equipment to dress like Crocodine.

Dragon Quest Tact

Crocodine appears as a A-rank member of the Beast family as part of the limited The First Adventure of Dai event on Hadlar's banner. His basic perk, Furfang Legion Commander, raises the defense for beasts in the surrounding rhombus for 3 turns (4 for Crodocine) at the start of Crocodine's even turns within the first 10 turns
