Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart[edit]

Localization lapse[edit]

With the 2015 localization of the smart phone version of II, the Mean spirit's name was changed to that of Sekerleton. This lead to confusion, as the name had already been applied to the skeleton in the first Zenithian game. The error arose because the two monsters share the same name in Japanese, being しにがみ, and the team that was assigned to localize II did not notice that the group which adapted IX foresaw this issue and averted it ahead of time.

However, the enemy is once again known as "Sekerleton" in Dragon Quest Builders 2, possibly due to the localizers referencing the English translation of II for enemy names. Curiously, the friendly version of the enemy encountered in the game's final chapter is still referred to as a Mean spirit.
