The metal king spear is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series.
It is frequently one of the most powerful Spears found in the game, and the Multithrust skill means that it is the ideal choice for cutting down Metal slimes. The spearhead is decorated with an emblem of a metal king slime.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
The Metal king spear is found near the end of the Dragovian Path, and has an Attack bonus of +120.
It can be sold for 24,000 gold coins or made into a metal wing boomerang if mixed with the razor wing boomerang in the Alchemy Pot. As with all Metal slime weapons, it deals 1~2 damage to the globs.
- Starting with the smartphone version of the game, it became possible to turn the metal wing boomerang back into the spear in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a holy lance. In the Nintendo 3DS version, a second metal king spear can be found in Memories Lane, allowing the player to keep one and use the other to make the metal wing boomerang if they so choose.

The forging guide for the spear is the Making Things with Metal Kings book, which is the reward for turning in 110 Mini medals at L'Académie de Notre Maitre des Médailles.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]
The metal king spear has an Attack bonus of +126. It is the strongest weapon for Kiryl and it can be obtained by defeating a veteran grim golem.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]
The metal king spear is obtained by turning in 120 medals. It has an Attack bonus of +170.
