Salt of the earth is used as an ingredient in a variety of different cooking recipes and can be purchased by exchanging 80 fish coins.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]
Salt of the earth can be dropped by Slimes, She-slimes, and Agoomulators, found randomly in barrels and treasure chests on the Stonecloud, or exchanged for one Mini medal from King Flaminio on the Stonecloud. It can be used to create Gold rings and Scholar's specs in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 1 gold coin. Three pinches of salt of the earth are required to complete Quest #52: Belle of the Bowl.

Salt of the earth is a phrase which traces its origin to the Book of Matthew of the New Testament from the Greek τὸ ἅλας τῆς γῆς (to halas tēs gēs). It can be used to describe a person that is decent, dependable, and unpretentious.
