The Prestidigitator, previously known as Magician, is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest III. It is a humanoid monster cloaked from head to toe in a grey robes. They fulfill the same role as the enemy of the same name from the original Dragon Quest, being the first enemy to be encountered that can cast spells, but they have a different design.
Characteristics
Prestidigiators have the appearance of men wearing dark grey robes with rope belts cinched around their waists. Their eyes seem to be glowing from within their robes and they have their hands outstretched, ready to cast a spell on any unfortunate adventurer. According to the Japanese Official Guide Book for the Famicom version, these magicians sold their souls and swore allegiance to Baramos, turning them into monsters.
