The Draguar is a recurring monster in the series, first introduced in Dragon Quest VII. As its name alludes, it is a monstrous hybrid of a dragon and a jaguar.

Description

The Draguar is a large catlike monster with immense upper canines, resembling a saber-toothed tiger. It has orange spotted skin, a beige-colored underside and webbings on its wings, tufts of dark red hair running down its back, and a teal pair of horns on its head. Some of its unusual features are the large dragon-like wings and a reptilian tail. Despite the chimeric nature of the animal, it is classified as a beast instead of a demon.

There is a rare chance of the Draguar dropping a Heart, allowing one party member to become one when the heart is taken to Alltrades Abbey. Alternatively, a character can master the Mandrake major and Notso macho vocations to become a Draguar.
