The Lumberin' Jack is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest X as the rarefied version of the Walking corpse.
Characteristics[edit]
Lumberin' Jacks are zombies with sickly purplish-pink rotten skin, unkempt pink hair, drool trailing from their mouths, and red eyes, one of which is bulging and irritated. All their clothes have suffered over time, and are now torn and dirty; they wear red coveralls underneath a grey ragged tunic held on their bodies with a white belt. They are capable of inflicting a wide range of harmful status effects, including envenomation, sleep, paralysis, and curses on unfortunate adventurers. According to their bestiary description in X, the lumberin' jacks wandered the earth aimlessly in search of their lost lovers, becoming corpses and sinking into the underworld in the process.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest X[edit]
Lumberin' jacks appear as the rarefied version of the walking corpse starting in Version 1.2 of the game. Their level is moderately high, so the player must avoid them at every cost if they are still weak in comparison with them. They are capable of landing curses with their attacks or a Cursed Mist and can breathe out Venom Mist, Sweet Breath, Burning Breath, and Air Pollution.
Other appearances[edit]
