The Face invader is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest X. Its name is be a pun based on the classic arcade game Space Invaders developed by Taito, a subsidiary of Square Enix.
Characteristics[edit]
The face invader consists of a small driver riding around in a huge mechanical suit designed to look like a fearsome monster. The front of the suit looks like a face with sharp fangs, wears a shaggy straw skirt, and has spikes on its shoulders and knees. Most of the suit is bronze-colored with a maroon outer back shell and the front of the "face" is dark blue with neon green eyes. It is able to breathe out flames from its mouth and it wields a large pair of curved horns colored a gradation of green to orange. These horns are sharp enough to shatter ice when charging.
