The Super Sword of Light is the original sword wielded by the legendary hero Erdwin.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
The super sword of light is not the same blade as the Sword of Light, which was a newly crafted weapon made in its image. This is the sword stored in the heart of Yggdrasil and later defiled by Mordegon into the sinister Sword of Shadows during the end of the first act. It remains in Mordegon's possession throughout the second act until he is killed in his Fortress of Fear, where the Luminary will reclaim it. As the sword of shadows it travels back in time with the Luminary to the end of the first act and is used to destroy Jasper's impenetrable shield, disintegrating after the battle. The player then retrieves the pure sword and keeps it for the remainder of the game, where it is used to dispel the cloak of darkness shielding Calasmos.
An excellent weapon for the Hero to use, it has a high damage boost and will cure any ailments that may trouble party members. It can be reliably used until you obtain the Supreme Sword of Light or any other sword with a higher damage output.

Trivia[edit]
- The super sword of light does not belong to a forging-chain with the sword of light and supreme sword of light, explaining the minor physical differences.
- It share the same appearance as Erdrick's sword but the connection between the two swords is up to player interpretation.
- The sword does bear a striking similarity to the Sword of Kings as seen in Dragon Quest III, however, and serves the same role in the story as the Sphere of Light.
