The watermaul wand, also known as the sea roar staff, is a recurring wand in the series. Its effects have differed from game to game, but it usually has some association with water.

Dragon Quest VII
The watermaul wand has an attack bonus of +74 and a style bonus of +42. It can be equipped by the Hero, Maribel, and Sir Mervyn. In the PS1 version, if used as a tool in battle, it casts the spell Tsunami. However, in the 3DS version, it was changed to cast Coral Grief in battle, due to the real-life tragedy of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
It can be purchased from the Dwarves' Den in the present for 14,000 gold and sold for 7,000 gold. One can also be found in the Dwarves' Den in the past in the treasure room after lighting the Beacon.
