The Urnexpected is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. It is a monster that disguises itself as an ordinary clay pot in order to ambush adventurers.

Description

The Urnexpected is a monster of the Material family that looks like a nondescript pot. The pot hides a mischievous pair of eyes and a grinning, wide mouth lined with fangs that it uses to bite enemies. In the same vein as the Cannibox, it waits for adventurers to throw or examine it and then it strikes. It usually knows Sizz and Snooze. When encountered in the field, the pots move around by hopping and they shatter into a million pieces when defeated.
