The pot lid is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series. It is usually the first shield the player can obtain, and correspondingly provides the weakest defence. It usually can be equipped by every character and by those who cannot wield heavier shields.

The bonus is 1000 points if it is equipped along with the other items which are the weakest in their category. The Lucky Bags have a chance to drop it.
