The small fry is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. One of the smallest members of the Dragon family, it is typically the first one encountered in the titles in which it appears, and assuredly is the least dangerous.

Due to its coloration, head shape, and horn style, some fans believe them to be the nymph stage or per-adolescent form of great dragons.
