Spongy Skin is a monster trait that partially simulates the effect of the Absorb Magic spell

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
Spongy Skin allows the possessor to absorb MP from a monster that damages it with an ability that uses the attack stat. It rarely activates in single player battles but triggers much more frequently in multiplayer battles. The amount drained is calculated as Level/2 + 5~10, with that limit being 250.
