The Dread dragon is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in the original Dragon Quest.

Covered in red scales with a blue underbelly, it is the mightiest quadrupedal dragon in the entire combined lands of the Erdrick trilogy. Along with despair-inducing stamina and strength, the Red dragon can also cast simple magic.
