The Charmour is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It is a suit of armour that has been animated through forbidden magic.
Characteristics[edit]
Charmours are magic suits of armour that have been enchanted to come to life. Their armour is two-toned perfectly down the middle, with their left sides being orange and their right sides being silver. They have a golden set of horns like the other suits of armour in its family. Charmours wield silver poleaxes and green shields with a skull emblazoned on them and a golden border. Their armour grants them a wide range of protection against attack magic and negative status effects. With their magic, they can cast Bound to reflect a single spell back at their opponents, but they also possess many different fighting techniques such as leaping in the air in an acrobatic manner, enchanting their weapons with flame, and performing all-or-nothing attacks. In the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VII, charmours split apart when they are defeated, revealing that nothing is inside the suits of armour.
