This armour will help to reduce damage caused by magic.[1]

This armor may be won in either the Port Haven or Turnscote casinos, and can be found in Howcastle behind a door that requires the Ultimate Key. It provides +66 defense, +51 style, and negates 15 points of magical damage from all non-Zap spells. It can be worn by the Hero, Terry, Carver, Lizzie, Amos, and Goowain.

  • The Dragon shield is also available in the aforementioned casinos, and can be equipped along with the platinum mail by most characters. This makes the battle with Murdaw significantly easier and is a popular strategy for low-level playthroughs.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

The platinum mail has a defence bonus of +63, a style bonus of +51, and reduces damage from all non-Zap spells by 20. It can be equipped by the Hero and Aishe and is acquired if a male character wins the Best Dressed Contest for the Excellence Grading Organisation in El Ciclo. It can be sold for 4,750 gold.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
