The dragontail whip was added in the 1996 remake and has an Attack bonus of +52. It only appears in remake versions of the game and can be equipped by the Hero, Warriors, Thieves, Gadabouts, and Sages.

In the Super Famicom and Game Boy Color versions of the game, the whip is received as a prize for completing the third T'n'T track, as well as from a treasure chest in the fourth.
