The wyrmhole dragon is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing as a special monster in Dragon Quest Monsters 2. It is a different dimension dragon that can move between realities.
Characteristics
The wyrmhole dragon has the appearance of a large Chinese dragon with teal scales, coral-like antlers on its head, yellow eyes, a purple mane, and a long pair of whiskers. However, what little of the dragon's body can be seen is limited to its head and front claws poking out of a dimensional portal. Its appearance was originally limited to the Monsters series of games and various spinoffs in the series, eventually appearing in X as a special boss that can be challenged by high level players. Thhis dimensional dragon often has access to powerful techniques such as calling down lightning and having a particular affinity for breathing out freezing cold blasts and even explosive outbursts.
Appearances
Dragon Quest X
The wyrmhole dragon makes its first appearance in the main series in Version 6.0 of the game as a special boss.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
Dimensaur, as the monster was localized at the time, is not available normally in the game, being given away as part of a Nintendo Power contest held during the game's debut year in America. Since this contest has ended, cheating devices and ROM hacks are the only way to gain access to the dragon. In Japan, the three monsters were distributed at tournament events.
It can learn FireAir, Hellblast, and MegaMagic naturally.

Dragon Quest of the Stars
In the Japanese version of the game, the wyrmhole dragon appears as the boss of one of the Stargazer events, and had various difficulties.
In the Global version, it only appeared as a Fiend-difficulty boss, and its key was only obtainable though the bushy bazaar. Its name was localized to Fu Ts'ang Lunge, which references the Fuzanglong, the Chinese dragon of hidden treasures.
As a boss, Fu Ts'ang Lunge could perform strong Zap, Woosh and Dark Breath-type skills that hit all the characters, as well as inflict them with sleep and lock. It was weak to Rubblerouser attacks, resisted Woosh and Zam-type abilities, and was neutral to everything else.
Dragon Quest Walk
Wyrmhole dragon appeared as a boss in Chapter 3, Episode 3 of the Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland event held in the game on December 9th, 2021, as a monster used by Terry himself, as well as a special mega version that can be challenged by multiple players. A banner with equipment based on the dimensional dragon was held from December 9th, 2021 to January 14th, 2022, consisting of a war fan and an ornate armored kimono-like outfit colored in shades of dark purple, teal, and gold.
Dragon Quest Tact
Dimensional dragon appears as a S-rank monster of the Dragon family, first appearing on its own banner during the Dragon Fest event along with Dragstar. It can participate in the Gasbagon's Battle Road as a party member. Starting with Version 4.0 of the game, it can be scouted from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout.

Etymology
- Wyrmhole is a play on wyrm, the Old English term for dragons, and wormholes, which are hypothetical points of connection between two separate places in time and space and were first coined by American theoretical physicist John Archibald Wheeler in 1957.
