The heavy hood is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest III. It is a blue-skinned Hoodie whose prolonged exposure to the elements have given it a strong set of resistances. Their berserker fury is so strong that they've become just as resilient to debilitating spells.

CharacteristicsEdit

Heavy hoods have the appearance of muscular humanoid men with bizarre blue skin, their heads obscured by the hooded red cloaks they wear. The only facial feature that can be made out are their blue eyes poking out of their hoods. The rest of their simple attire consists of a red pair of briefs, as well as leather gloves and boots. Their capes are held with leather straps. In X, the color of their capes and briefs changed to magenta, while their gloves and boots are saffron-colored. The heavy hoods wield their hand axes with deadly precision, being capable of landing desperate attacks. They will also call for help from more of their kind if they are threatened. The meatheads also have a tendency to flex their muscles in the heat of battle to strengthen themselves and slowly recover their own HP.
