The moon sigil is one of the five sigils created by the faeries dwelling in Alefgard.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake[edit]

The water sigil is created by the Craft-Master in the alchemy building of the Faerie Village once the Hero brings her a jar of moonbeam dew from the lower levels of the Quagmire Cave. Once obtained the Hero's spells can now go haywire and deal higher damage, have a greater success chance against enemies, or heal more of his HP. The formula for this rate is exactly the same as his critical hit rate, being based on his level and luck stat.

Single-target spells such as Heal or Zapple have the same haywire rate as his normal attacks do to go critical, group-targeting spells such as Kasizz or Snooze have a rate that is 75% of single-target spells, and spells that target all enemies such as Kazap are half as likely to go haywire as single-target spells, identical to how boomerangs have half of the crit chance as single-target weapons.

The damage modification for single-target attack spells is 300%, 250% for group-targeting spells, and 200% damage for all-enemy targeting spells. The power of healing spells is 300%. If the Hero is wearing the duplic hat and a spell echos then both castings will have the same chance to go haywire.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]

The moon sigil is kept by the King of Dirkandor, who will only hand it over if the player defeats his pet striking sabrecat.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit]

The King will now only allow the Scions of Erdrick to prove their worth if they have obtained royal missive from Beran first. Note that the Princess of Cannock's spells are thrice as likely to go haywire compared to her relatives, same as with her critical hit rate, and the haywire power of Multiheal is 200%.
