Pitch pearl is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is an enchanting black pearl favoured by mature and provocative ladies that is used as a crafting ingredient.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Pitch pearl is used as a material for crafting weapons, armour, and rugs. It can be picked up from sparkly spots or dropped by various monsters, including Drackies, Cumauluses, Pesky jesters, Hat hamwitches, Trickstars, and Dirty dogus.

Pitch pearls can be purchased for 800 gold each from the pearl shop at Lonalulu after the Tentacular is defeated, picked up from a sparkly spot at Insula Algarum*, or dropped by Mermen and Malicious mermen, Black dragons, Crushtaceans, and Fromage greys*. More pitch pearls can be found in Gondolia, the Costa Valor, and Saikiki Beach at Lonalulu. It can be sold for 200 gold. Pitch pearl is used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]

Pitch pearl can be dropped by Dark skeletons and Hell gladiators or received from King Flaminio in exchange for 5 Mini medals on the Stonecloud. It can also be received as a reward for completing Showdown: Old-Five Necks with gold clear time from the second time onward or Grudge Match: Old-Five Necks with silver clear time from the second time onward. Pitch pearl is used in the classic recipes for the Nacreous necromonocle and the Sock-it locket in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 425 gold.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Pitch pearl is used as a material for improving various accessories or sold for 150 gold. It can be dropped by Dark skeletons, Ghouls, Magic marionettes, and Spitegeists, or picked up from sparkly spots in the Lumberlands.
