The magic marionette is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, it is a strengthened version of the mud mannequin.
Characteristics[edit]
Animated blood-red bouncing bodies craved of wood, some say the magic marionette is actually soaked in the remains of defeated adventurers. They rip magic points right from their enemies with a rigid weird dance, before slapping them silly with their wooden stumpy arms. The coloration of the puppets has changed many times over the years, from teal in their original appearance in II to brown in V, then grey in their original appearance in VI before finally settling on dark red in VII and most modern appearances.
