Shade

From Dragon Quest Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The shade is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in Dragon Quest III.

It is a mysterious shadowy creature that takes on the characteristics and abilities of other monsters.

Characteristics[edit]

Shades originally appeared as a white and grey shadow with light blue eyes, but was depicted as solid black with orange eye light in the Super Famicom remake of the third game. When it reappeared in the eighth game, it kept the dark color, but changed its eyes for a shade of blue similar to its original sprite's; this has been the look the creature has kept ever since.
