The Wrecktor is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. There are essentially three different looking monsters with this name:
- Wrecktor from Dragon Quest II. In their official artwork from Dragon Quest II (pictured to the right) they do not wield any weapons, however in DQII itself they wield two spiked maces, much like the Whackolyte enemy from the same game.
- Wrecktor from Dragon Quest V
- Wrecktor from Dragon Quest VII. They look much like they do in Dragon Quest II, however they have a green cape and wield a magic wand instead of two maces. This variant also appears in Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart.
Description
In Dragon Quest II, the Wrecktor is a wicked wizard dressed in a white robe with a powerful purple cape. It wears green gloves and has purple horns. They cast sizzling strong fire spells to wreak havoc in battle. It is ridiculously strong when first encountered and, in many instances, is an optional monster that the player can fight. After defeated, the Wrector may drop the Staff of thunder, a staff that casts Sizzle in battle.

In the original NES version of the game, the Wrecktor only showed up as random encounters on the third floor of the Hall of Hargon. In the remakes, they still appear there, but they also now guard the Staff of thunder in Lorasia Castle which was previously guarded by the Whackolyte in the NES version. They are much stronger than the Whackolyte, making the Staff of thunder somewhat more difficult to acquire in the remakes.

The Wrecktor is now a normal enemy and can be found in the Deja continent. It is also found in the Excavated Cave and the Malign Shrine.
In the old localization for the Playstation, they were known as "EvilClown", however they are not the same enemy as the "Evil Clown"/"EvilClown" enemy from the old localiations of Dragon Quest II - that monster is now known as the Whackolyte.
