The Luminary and Erik journey here on Chalky's instructions after discovering the village of Cobblestone in ruins, having been destroyed by Jasper and his men. At Cobblestone Falls, they find the three-sided rock that Chalky described and dig to find a small box holding two letters—one from the Luminary's mother Queen Eleanor and another from Chalky himself—as well as the Keystone, which will allow the duo to open the Door of Departure to the east.

Erik and the Luminary running to the Door of Departure.

Erik reassures the youth despite the difficulty of the journey ahead of them and the two head to the Kingsbarrow to retrieve the stolen Red Orb. After finding it again, they head to the east to the Door but discover they they are still being pursued by Hendrik and the Heliodorian soldiers. The two are able to narrowly escape once again and find themselves in the Hotto Steppe with the help of the Keystone.
