The Princess's robe is a recurring garment in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in Dragon Quest V. This regal gown for women was designed to protect against breath damage in its debut, but has since shifted focus to magical resistance.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]

The Princess's robe has a Defence bonus of +80, and reduces breath damage by 40. It can only be worn by female characters, such as the wives and Madchen. It is found in the Faerie Palace.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]

Found in Mortamor's Dreadlair, the Princess's robe provides +85 defence and cuts all magical damage save for Zap by 30.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

The Princess's robe has a defence bonus of +85, a style bonus of +72, and reduces damage from all magical spells except Zap by 30. It can be purchased for 20,000 gold at the Divine Shrine and sold for 10,000 Gold Coins. Maribel and Aishe can equip it. If it is worn with the Golden tiara when being ranked for the Excellence Grading Organisation, it provides an extra +50 Style bonus.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

The Princess's robe has a defence bonus of +94, and protects against all magic damage except for zap by 30. It can be worn by Jessica and Red. The princess's robe cannot be purchased, but can be sold for 36,000 Gold Coins and can be crafted in the Alchemy Pot. In the 3DS version, the princess's robe can be turned into Dodgy Dave in Pickham in exchange for an Abiding blazer.
