The second design, featured in VII, as well as remake versions of IV, V, and VI, consists of a blue and teal-coloured handle with three lashes, each with a sharp arrowhead-shaped blade at the end, as well as another arrowhead-shaped blade on the end of the handle. Starting with VIII, the Gringham whip now had a red and gold handle and three teal cords braided into a single lash with three arrowhead-shaped blades at the end, along with one of the same blades on the back of the handle. This was done in order to have all whips in the game have the same attack animations.
