The Bank is a recurring location in Dragon Quest games where a player can store amounts of gold to be retrieved later.
It first appeared in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation with only one location in the town of Aliahan. In later games, there are typically multiple locations (or branches) throughout the game where the player can store/retrieve gold. Storing gold in the bank protects it from being lost if the player's party is defeated in battle.
Banks typically only receive gold in increments of 1000. Most also have an upper limit as to the total amount that can be stored. No existing game has implemented a bank with an interest system included. All gold is retrieved for the same amount it was stored.
