Effect Allows wielder to attack twice in a single turn.

The Falcon blade is a Sword featured in multiple games in the Dragon Quest series. The sword is incredibly fast, allowing those wielding it to attack twice in a single turn. In later games, it can be upgraded into an Über falcon blade.

The Falcon blade is a one-handed sword with a slim blade, a blue hilt with a knuckle bow and gold pommel, and a stylized golden design of a flying bird on its crossguard which gives the sword its name. It shares characteristics with the real life European smallsword and rapiers. The design of the Falcon blade has stayed the same since it was first introduced and it has appeared in every main series game since II and even in multiple spinoffs.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]

The Falcon blade has an Attack bonus of +7 (+5 in the original NES version). It can be purchased from Slewse for 25,000 gold coins and can be equipped by the Hero and the Prince of Cannock. It is useful against enemies and gives the player a chance to attack enemies 2 times, including Metal Slimes and Metal Babbles who often run away from battle.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]

The Falcon blade can be bought for 25,000 gold coins in Rimuldar and sold for 18,750 gold coins. It has an Attack bonus of +5. The Hero, Merchants, Thieves, and Sages can equip it.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

The Falcon blade has an Attack bonus of +67 and can be won from the Endor Casino for 65,000 tokens. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, and the 9th Chosen One, who joins the party with a Falcon blade equipped. Also if the Pioneer Town gets upgraded to a castle. You can find a Falcon blade on the west side of the Castle on the ground.

You can attack the same enemy twice with it but won't carry over to a different monster and is useful against Metal slime, Liquid Metal Slime and Metal King Slime enemies who often run away. The falcon blade is the most expensive to get at Endor's casino as you have to bet at the monster arena for many hours before finally getting over 65,000 coins. And it will cost 130,000 coins total for the Hero and Ragnar early on in the beginning of Chapters 2, 3 and 5.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]

The Falcon blade has an Attack bonus of +67 and each strike hits for 75%, totaling up to 150%. It can be obtained by trading 30 Mini medals in the SFC version, or 35 Mini medals to King Dominicus in the remakes. It can also be found on the Nadiria and Stark Raving Mad T'n'T boards. It can be sold for 26250 gold coins, which is the most gold per medal of any of the items that can be acquired from King Dominicus.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]

The Falcon blade has an Attack bonus of +67 and a Style bonus of +32. It can be upgraded to have a style bonus of +60, though it costs 4800 gold to do so. Overkilling machines drop them 1256 of the time. Falcon blades can be obtained from either the Turnscote or Greedmore Valley casinos for 10,000 tokens. The Hero, Milly, Ashlynn, Amos, Terry, and Goowain can equip them.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]

The Falcon blade has the now standard Attack bonus of +67, but only deals 50% damage per strike, and a Style bonus of +32. It can be equipped by the Hero, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased from Buccanham's Casino for 10,000 tokens and sold for 12,500 gold coins.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

The Falcon blade has an Attack bonus of +37 and returns to 75% per hit. It can be purchased from the Baccarat Casino for 10,000 tokens and can be sold for 5,000 gold coins. The Hero and Angelo can equip it, as well as Jessica Albert and Red provided they have the "Equip Swords" ability. It can be upgraded in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a Meteorite bracer into an Über falcon blade.
