It is a Mystery Dungeon game and contains randomly generated dungeons and uses turn-based action combat. It was released for the PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan in 2002. The game was released for the Game Boy Advance, under the title Dragon Quest Characters: Torneko no Daibouken 3 Advance in 2004, also exclusively in Japan.
